Check out our QRZ page: https://www.qrz.com/db/N0A

Join Skywarn Youth ham radio operators for the second year in a row as we operate Special Event Station: N0A (November Zero Alpha), March 15th through March 29th, in an effort to encourage hams throughout the U.S. and around the world to learn about Severe Weather Awareness.
We plan to operate both SSB and FT8/FT4 on: 80m, 40m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, and 10m, as well as only FT8 on: 160m and 30m
We will be on the air at various times of the day and night as time permits. Please give us some contacts and say “hello”!
If you don’t have access to HF radio, then be sure to check into at least one of our nets during this Special Event Station’s operational period. Those nets will take place on March 15th, March 22nd, and March 29th. All check-ins to those three nets will be added to our N0A Special Event Log.
We look forward to contacting you and many more, so please spread the word!
Each spring, National Weather Service Forecast Offices hold Severe Weather Awareness weeks in their respective regions to educate the public about the dangers of severe weather and the importance of being prepared. Our goal with this special event station is to do the same within the amateur radio community.
During a weather emergency, seconds can save lives; they might even save yours! Being prepared for severe weather and establishing situational awareness during severe weather events is crucial and will help you and your family to stay safe.
Our first Severe Weather Awareness Special Event Station operation was a remarkable success! We operated last spring as time permitted from March 17th through March 31st. We made over 2,000 contacts using both SSB voice and FT8 digital modes. We were also featured on Amateur Radio Newsline and in the CQ Blind Hams Podcast! QSL Cards
- All stations who send a digital/electronic QSL will receive a digital/electronic QSL in return.
- All stations who send a physical QSL card will receive a physical QSL card in return.
Physical QSLs can be sent to our PO Box:
Skywarn Youth Net
c/o Caleb KE0FOE
PO Box 279
Branson, MO 65615-0279
The same applies to our 2025 N0A Special Event. We had no idea that the response would be as huge as it was last year (which was our first time doing this), and we simply were not prepared for QSLs. This year will be different.
Thus, all QSLs received in 2025 will also, finally, be responded to as well.
We did scan/post all QSLs received in 2025, and we proudly have them displayed as an interactive slideshow on our website. Here’s a direct link to the 2025 N0A Special Event page that hosts this QSL slideshow: https://skywarnyouth.net/2025-special-event/
